Skyline Club Wedding | Gretchen & John
9.17.10 WeddingsGretchen and John had an incredible wedding celebration last weekend at the Skyline Club in downtown Indianapolis. The day began in Zionsville, with hair at Platinum designs and then off to Zionsville United Methodist Church. Gretchen had bright pops of colors everywhere in her details – oranges, deep pinks and yellows.
I absolutely adore this couple’s love for life and each other. Seven years of dating led up to this very day, the day they would be man and wife. Gretchen made sure it was perfect. John was blown away by the whole day – all his family and friends, the details and of course how gorgeous Gretchen looked.
After a great ceremony, we headed to downtown Indianapolis for a stop at Monument Circle, where the sun decided to join us for the first time that day. We had a ton of fun taking some casual pics and then had the most random moment when a whole group of bikers swarmed around the circle and joined in for a picture. That’s the fun of the Circle, you never know who or what you’ll see.
We enjoyed the rest of the evening atop the city at the Skyline Club. The reception room took Gretchen’s breath away, seeing all of her ideas come together. John was more than elated at her personal touches, such as a custom cattle cake topper (John is huge into his cattle, see their engagement session) and the pictures of his show cattle over the years as table decor. It was a wonderful blend of classy, whimsical and personal touches. I knew the reception was going to be lively when they where introduced to the Purdue fight song and the crowd cheered on. Grapevine DJ Mark kept the party going all night. Their parents were surprised as they heard Gretchen and John”s voice during the music of their first dance, sharing their love and gratitude. As the sun set, the view turned to twinkly city lights, the perfect backdrop for dancing the night away.
Much love to John and Gretchen and to their families for creating such a wonderful day!
