As a photographer, sometimes your own family gets neglected in getting updated pictures. Well, since I was doing a session with Tim’s brother and fiance, I thought it was also a great opportunity to get some updated shots of the whole family. Tim’s parents, Ralph and Pam, had their engagement pictures taken at the IMA and it seemed appropriate to do some updated versions. I even had David snap a few of Tim and I. (the pictures we do have together are few and mostly taken by the classic “get together hold out your hand and hope for the best” method) So here’ my encouragement for my photog friends out there, take time to take pictures of you and your own clan. (or if you pre-plan, swap with another photographer) We know how priceless pictures are, yet they tend to get put on the back burner of our to-do list.
On my weekend of fun with Kiera to shoot Kirsten and Drew’s wedding in Michigan, we split up the trip by staying Friday night with her college friends. It was fun to get a little taste of “lake life”. In the morning we had a photo shoot around their lakehouse where they spend a lot of time in the summer. Their son Milo, has a cousin Maggie who is very close in age and I’m sure will some day look back at these images and remember all the fun they had together at the lake in the summers. What a great thing to have such precious time together as a family.

I love this little guy and how much of his parents I can see in him at only 4 months old! He has the best little expressions and they just cracked me up. (check out his eyebrows!) This baby is loved so well by his parents. They are good friends of ours and it’s been neat to see them transition into this new stage of life. On to his baby cuteness…
April 28th, my brother Ryan and his wife Amanda welcomed into the world their first child, Lorelei Elaine. She came into the world at 5:06pm and was 7lbs 14 ounces, 20.5 inches tall! She also is an 8th generation Kentuckian. (even though they live 10 minutes north of the Kentucky border!)
They had had a whirlwind two years, from Ryan’s 4th of July proposal, home ownership, a winter wedding in ’08 and now adding little Lorelei to the mix. I am looking forward to seeing her little personality as she grows bigger and can assure you that you’ll see her again on the blog.
Let me explain the picture of the two stuffed animals (since I’m not a fan of posing babies by stuffed animals), those are my brother’s well loved childhood friends Rocky (the raccoon) and Teddy (the bear). They accompanied us on many of an adventure; tree climbing, wagon rides, the drive in movies, and cardboard box creations (submarines, spaceships, etc)!
