Jonathan | Birthday Weekend

This weekend was full of fun for Jonathan as he celebrated his 1st Birthday!

We did a lot of fishing out tissue paper from his mouth.

He knew the proper gift etiquette to read/eat the card first.

Very excited about his customized luggage.

A little unsure of why he’s just in his diaper and people are watching.

Breaking out in song.

Look who’s one!

Thanks to my friend Emily for making such a cute banner!

Enjoying his new tunnel!

Katey & Jordan | Noblesville Indiana Wedding

Katey dreamed of a beautiful snowy winter wedding. Last Saturday was just that, a perfect winter day for a perfect pair to share their vows. In the morning, the house was full of hairspray, Starbucks, airbrush makeup, last minute speech revisions and singing out loud. At the church before the ceremony there was even a little dancing in the bridal room to calm any nerves. Jordan seemed pretty calm leading up to the ceremony and enjoyed some laughs with his groomsmen before “go time”. The service was officiated by the best man’s dad, who knew him even as a little boy. (the slideshow included some fantastic photos of them growing up together) His best man, happened to marry Jordan’s older sister (a MOH) a few years ago, who we also photographed. They are actually still great friends, pretty nice ...

Jonathan | Almost 1 Year!

Wow, in looking back through these images it’s absolutely incredible how much Jonathan has changed from the little baby boy we met just a year ago! Our family will never be the same. It’s been such a joy to see him grow, develop and get glimpses into his personality. These last 12 months have certainly been memorable for us and for the most part haven’t passed by too quickly. We both cherish so much the amount of time we are able to spend with Jonathan as a result of being small business owners.

Here’s a quick visual recap of how he’s grown and changed:

Alli & Tyler | Elopement Reception

My younger cousin Tyler, celebrated his recent marriage to Alli last weekend. The previous weekend they were out in Sedona Arizona, where they got married in a beautiful old Spanish Chapel with just their maid of honor and best man by their side. They enjoyed a week of honeymoon before coming back to the Midwest for a reception with family and friends. Alli & Tyler are both serving in the military. They actually first crossed paths during jump school, which they were at the summer Tim and I got married. Thanks to Facebook they re-connected while Tyler was serving overseas and have been so in love since he returned stateside.

Special mention to my cousin and aunt, who thanks to some pinterest finds, made some great DIY centerpieces at the reception.

Working with Your Spouse | Setting Priorities

Living together, let alone running a business together takes effort in coordination. Lack of communication or joint vision of priorities can easily lead to two frustrated people. (and that does happen at times) One way that Tim and I try to keep tabs on everything and make sure the most important things get done first is making task lists and then prioritizing them together. Some items get designated T for Tim or M for me.

Then we put them into 3 categories; A-must be done today, B- should be done soon (today would be ideal), C- great ideas but if not gotten to in a few weeks should be delegated or put on hold

Following the A, B, C’s we put them in order; 1,2,3, etc. We usually stack the front of the list with smaller quicker things to accomplish (email so ...

Jonathan | First Snow

In anticipation of snow coming later today, I thought it was a great chance to share the images of Jonathan’s first experience with snow. While he did come home from the hospital last year in the middle of an ice storm, this was his first chance to explore the snow. Two days after Christmas we finally got snow and lucky for Jonathan he just opened a snowsuit present earlier that morning at his grandparents. He only sat still a few minutes before he realized he could crawl in the snow and then baby tracks everywhere.

Most hilarious face ever.

His reaction when we put a small bit of snow in his mouth.

New Year’s Eve Wedding Details

Andrea and her mom did an incredible job incorporating every detail for their New Year’s Eve wedding in downtown Indianapolis. Just a few things that stuck out to me:

Winter wedding flowers without any berries, but soft colors.

Sparkling things everywhere – enough to be classy, fun and not overwhelming.

A HUGE heart lit up on Monument Circle, just for them.

A great limo bus with snack goodie bags for the wedding party (including hand warmers).

Wedding reception formalities intermingled between courses.

Special slideshows running during the first dances. Who wouldn’t cry seeing a picture of a new dad holding his baby girl and him dancing with her in a white dress on the dance floor? (makes me think this parenting thing goes by quick)

Lots of fun New Year’s party accessories. (hats, glasses, beads, etc)

Confetti cannons throughout the crowd that exploded at the New Year, as ...

Andrea & Michael | Indianapolis Columbia Club Wedding

Andrea and Michael rung in the New Year in a big way, celebrating their wedding reception at the beautiful Columbia Club in downtown Indianapolis. New Year, New Life. Everything was classy, shiny and joyful.

They made their vows before God in a full catholic mass at Andrea’s home church in Brownsburg, St. Malachy. Andrea and her father shared some sweet moments before he walked her down the aisle.

In between the ceremony and reception, we stopped at St. Elmo Steakhouse (where Michael proposed to Andrea) for a few photos. As the sun set, the lights on the IPL building at Monument Circle turned into a giant red heart for Andrea and Michael. Andrea’s dad works at IPL, and it was the perfect surprise for guests as they arrived and looked out the 10th floor windows during the cocktail hour.

To get things officially started ...

Looking Forward | 2012

Hard to believe that in the next year we will likely see Jonathan walk, begin to talk and become his own person. Last year at this time we were just waiting out the last few weeks of pregnancy. It’s amazing what has happened in a year, not only with Jonathan but the ways we have grown as well; as a couple, business owners, parents and people following after Christ. I have a feeling that 2012 will be no different. Life will continue to change and we’ll continue to grow as we adapt. While there is definitely something peaceful about constancy, the adventure is lying in the new and changing for us right now.

Our little explorer, looking for what’s outside of what is known.
