It only made sense for us to visit that same special place for their engagement pictures.  The fall ...]]> He was acting out of sorts.  They were taking a walk in the park, even though Ellen was confused why he was so adamant on taking a walk.  As they walked along, Ellen noticed a picnic set up on top of the hill “Oh how cute, someone is having a picnic,” she said.  As they neared she read a sign, re-read it and realized the picnic was set for them!  With help from a friend, Brian set up the perfect moment to propose – just the two of them, on top of a hill, with a beautiful view, wine and sweet picnic set.  Ellen, although blind to the cues of the day, was completely swept off her feet and excited to say YES!

It only made sense for us to visit that same special place for their engagement pictures.  The fall leaves had not yet left, and it was a beautiful evening.  These two are both very sweet with each other and can make each other laugh at any moment.  They clearly have a special love and understanding of each other.  We’re so excited to capture the love you share.

Ellen and Brian will have their Indianapolis wedding reception at the Indiana Roof Ballroom next year, which is sure to be another gorgeous event by Circle City Planners.

For their engagement session, Michael and Andrea wanted to represent their urban side (as Andrea lived on the canal last year) and their ...]]> “I remember seeing her step out of her car and seeing her non-stop smile the whole night”,  Michael recalls about their first date.  Andrea remember how important family was to him and how he was just such a genuine, trustworthy guy.  It’s funny that you can have many first dates with people, but you never forget the first date you have with your spouse.  These two definitely left that lasting impression on each other, and their relationship continued to grow despite living an hour apart when they met. Now, they live just a mile from each other and are looking forward to beginning their marriage in style downtown at the Columbia Club with a New Year’s Eve wedding!

For their engagement session, Michael and Andrea wanted to represent their urban side (as Andrea lived on the canal last year) and their love for wide open spaces.  As we walked along the canal, where they had walked many times  before, they were able to share and remember how it all started.  In Brownsburg,  a family friend’s farm was hosting the entire fleet of new 2012 John Deere Equipment for a large dealer convention.  It was pretty incredible! We totally lucked out with the most gorgeous evening ever.

As it got dark, we moved the festivities inside to Jillian’s where Becky and Justin enjoyed a competitive game of Skee Ball (who doesn’t love Skee Ball?)  When you are feeling competitive, it’s only appropriate to wear your favorite team’s jersey.  Justin got to pick on this one and it was hands down the Detroit Red Wings.

Becky is the incredibly talented small business owner of Lilly Lane Inspired Floral Designs, which I’ve had the privilege of working with several times.  These two are looking forward to their destination wedding ...]]> We had a wonderful evening downtown along the canal for Becky and Justin’s engagement session.  The evening begin with photographing them with their two furry friends.  Wow, photographing two dogs is much more difficult than corralling just one!  They were troopers though, and by the end I felt like they were loving the limelight.

So it took us a while to get the Skee Ball to ourselves.  A lady was on a hot streak and you know you just can’t leave the game when you’re in the zone!  Worth the wait.

Tim and I have know these two since we were introduced to the “other Megans” while visiting my brother-in-law at college.  Seems to be a trend of Tim’s Fraternity Brother’s marrying Megans (I can think of 5 total right now, three of which are weddings I’ve photographed!)

Meghan and Sean are an incredibly intentional couple and I know that they will have a life together that glorifies God.  Best wishes as you prepare for marriage!

I love to make engagement pictures personal, so I was so excited when they shared some of their favorite things to do together – gardening, antiquing, board games, coffee shops and their dog, Lula.  For such a DIY couple, going to the nursery was the perfect stop.  We also spent some time at a coffee shop before heading to their house, where they enjoy their yard and energetic dog.

I’m so looking forward to their very special wedding day in Amber’s hometown!

After April showers postponed our shoot several times, we finally got a glorious evening to do their shoot.  We ended up at their favorite ice cream place BRICS, which is right off the Monon.  If you haven’t tried it out yet, you should add it to your summer to-do list.

Tim and I are so excited to be part of their wedding downtown this fall at Union Station Grand Hall!

We were hoping to catch the last of the fall leaves right as the weather was starting to feel more like winter.  These two were troopers as the temperature and light kept dropping as we were walking around.
