It has been really exciting over the last couple of months to see the readership of this blog grow. You guys are a great support and encouragement!
A lot has been going on behind the scenes at Megelaine Images during 2009. I’ve been working hard on photographic skills and style, sharpening the branding, and investing in new technologies, all of which have led to today.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you my brand new website! Please check it out and leave me a comment to let me know you saw it.
Jamie and Michael shared their vows before God, family and friends at Valle Vista this past Saturday. Their fairytale courtship led to a fairytale wedding complete with Jamie arriving to the ceremony by carriage and they left by carriage after being pronounced man and wife. The love of family could be felt the whole day through, by the special moments between her mom and sisters getting ready to his dad’s heartfelt speech at the reception. Both dads were beaming with pride the whole day. Michael might have been the most excited groom ever while he waited for Jamie’s arrival. He could barely stay still. During the ceremony, it was hard to find a dry eye. I don’t think my description would do the ceremony justice, but it was sweet, intimate and God focused. Emotions were high as they were pronounced man and wife and it all became real. After a few pictures just as the sun was setting, they were ready to kick off the reception. Following sweet and funny toasts, this group was ready to dance and celebrate. The dance floor was overflowing the rest of the night. The newlyweds took off to begin their honeymoon, which would take them to St. Lucia this week. It was such an honor to be part of their day. Congratulations of the beginning of an incredible journey!

On my weekend of fun with Kiera to shoot Kirsten and Drew’s wedding in Michigan, we split up the trip by staying Friday night with her college friends. It was fun to get a little taste of “lake life”. In the morning we had a photo shoot around their lakehouse where they spend a lot of time in the summer. Their son Milo, has a cousin Maggie who is very close in age and I’m sure will some day look back at these images and remember all the fun they had together at the lake in the summers. What a great thing to have such precious time together as a family.

Last week this time I had the opportunity to shoot with my good friend Kiera at Kirsten and Drew’s wedding up at Gun Lake in Michigan. I really enjoyed the roadtrip time with Kiera (we never turned the music on because we were so busy chatting) and loved being a second shooter for the day. It’s nice to have the flexibility to try some new things that you might not normally have time for on a wedding day. The day couldn’t have been prettier, maybe cooler, but not prettier. Everything was out by the lake, ceremony and reception. During the cocktail hour the wedding party took a boat trip together and made a grand entrance off the dock! It was such a pleasure to work with Kirsten and Drew and their great families.

I love this little guy and how much of his parents I can see in him at only 4 months old! He has the best little expressions and they just cracked me up. (check out his eyebrows!) This baby is loved so well by his parents. They are good friends of ours and it’s been neat to see them transition into this new stage of life. On to his baby cuteness…
